Biography
Maida Waziri Juma is the Managing Director of the East Africa College of Business, a visionary entrepreneur and transformational business leader with more than 25 years building and scaling enterprises across East Africa. She is Founder and CEO of Ibra Africa Holding, a diversified conglomerate spanning construction, communications, education, affordable housing, and financial services, with five flagship subsidiaries: Ibra Enterprises, Maida Communication, Ibra Training Centre, Ibra Affordable Housing, and Ibra Credit. A distinguished champion of women’s economic empowerment, she served as President of the Voice of Women Entrepreneurs Tanzania (VOWET) and sits on several industry boards, including the Construction Sector Board of the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) and the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA). She was named East Africa Entrepreneur of the Year at the 7th All Africa Business Leaders Awards (2017) and recognised earlier as head of the Best Woman-Owned/Managed Construction Company by the Contractors Registration Board (2011). Her academic and professional development includes studies in marketing and entrepreneurship at the College of Business Education and the University of Dar es Salaam Business School, and the Graca Machel Trust’s Women Creating Wealth programme. She is also a published author, with titles including Sauti ya Mjasiriamali: Kesho Yako Ni Uthubutu and writing on SME development and economic growth in Tanzania.
