Biography
Dr. Donath Olomi is one of East Africa’s foremost authorities on entrepreneurship and SME development, with more than 30 years of experience as a practitioner, researcher, and trainer. He is Principal Consultant and Director of the Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development (IMED) in Dar es Salaam. He holds a PhD in Business Administration (Umea University, Sweden / University of Dar es Salaam), an MBA in Marketing (St. Mary’s University, Canada), and a B.Com in Marketing (UDSM). He previously founded and directed the University of Dar es Salaam Entrepreneurship Centre (UDEC) and served on the UDSM academic staff up to Senior Lecturer. His policy footprint is national in scale: he drafted Tanzania’s National Entrepreneurship Training Framework, the Inclusive National Entrepreneurship Strategy, and the Business Development Services Guideline, and co-authored An Enterprise Map of Tanzania with Prof. John Sutton. He chairs the board of AML Finance Ltd and is a member of the Institute of Directors Tanzania.
